Quests & NPCs

Marked questgivers, a guide that paths you there, and a class trial at level 9.

If you've played a theme-park MMO, the language is familiar on sight: a gold ! over a head means a new quest, a ? means a reward waiting to be claimed. What's different is the guide — a glowing orb that circles your character and actively paths you to the next thing to do, whether that's a monster to kill or the NPC to turn in to.

Head markers

! and ?, color-coded

Markers float over NPC heads and update several times a second as you move through the city. The color tells you the state at a glance — a quest you haven't started, one in progress, or one that's ready to hand in — so you never have to open a menu to read the room.

The guidance orb

A guide that paths you

Let it smart-pick your most relevant objective and it leads the way — to the closest matching monster for a slay or gather step, then swinging to the turn-in NPC once you're done. Want to focus a specific quest? Pin it and the orb locks onto that one until you clear it.

The kinds of quests you'll take

Slay

Clear out a target enemy — the orb points to the nearest one, then back to the giver.

Gather

Collect drops from monsters; the guide leads you to whatever drops what you need.

Deliver

Carry a letter or package between NPCs, sometimes returning to where you started.

Chains

Multi-step questlines that walk you across the city, one NPC to the next.

Cost gates

Some turn-ins require a gold payment or a minimum level before they'll complete.

Class trial

A special questline around level 9 that sets your class for good.

Quests reward XP, gold, and items on turn-in, and they can combine objectives — kill and gather and pay a toll on the same step. Reaching a class trial sets your profession; read more on the Classes & Skills page.

Your first hour in Argent City

The opening isn't a wall of text — it's a tutorial that teaches by doing. It starts with a quest called Cadet's First Call and Senna, the Novice Navigator, who points you at the people who run the city. You meet the blacksmith, the tailor, and the physician, run a few errands, and come out the other side knowing how the world works — not having read about it.
